Masters 2016 about as chilly as you will see
It’s hard to believe, but Masters week 2016 is now about 80% in the books, and spring break is now a wrap for kids in the Augusta area. For the most part, the nice weather we have enjoyed most of the week will continue through the weekend. This means we can expect plenty of sunshine Saturday and Sunday, but we can also expect plenty of wind again Saturday with sustained winds hovering between 17 and about 22 m.p.h. Add in the fact that temperatures will be a solid 10° below average, and we are looking at a chilly day by April standards in Georgia-Carolina. Winds will finally relax Saturday night into Sunday, but that will only allow temperatures to get even cooler Saturday night into Sunday morning when a freeze watch is in effect. Sunday will finish out Masters 2016 on a sunny and less windy note, but it will be the coolest day of the tournament with temperatures only reaching into the lower to middle 60. Looking ahead to next week, the best chance of rain will be Tuesday as a cold front plows through the region. A few showers could linger into Wednesday if the front has a hard time making it through our area as they commonly do this time of year, but mainly dry weather is expected Wednesday through Friday with temperatures close to average for mid-April.
